Stream Mitigation and Permitting

​AST has extensive experience in conducting wetlands assessments, delineations, mitigation, and permitting in accordance with the US Army Corps of Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual, 1987 and the Clean Water Act.
AST has worked extensively with State, County, and City engineers on road and bridge projects. We have worked on linear infrastructure projects​​ such as Electric Transmission lines as well as Petroleum, Natural Gas, Water and Sewer pipelines throughout the region.

AST is experienced in various aquatic survey techniques including EPA Rapid Bioassessment. AST's Aquatic Resource Team is equipped to perform population studies for aquatic organisms, aquatic toxicology studies, and water quality assessments in accordance with various state and federally prescribed protocols.
AST's Aquatic Resource Team is available to assist clients with projects involving aquatic resource alterations. The team is experienced in project planning and preparing US Army Corps of Engineers and joint Tennessee Valley Authority permits for various activities involving stream alterations. The team is also experienced with Rosgen techniques for channel assessment and design.
AST's environmental scientists and biologists are experienced in performing species assessments and habitat assessments for protected fauna and flora. The team specializes in aquatic fauna and is permitted to survey for most of the federally protected fish, mussel, and snail species in the Southeast.

Our Services

We can provide services which include permit applications and updates, sampling, analyses, and required reporting and correspondence on our client's behalf.
AST will prepare and submit the required forms and Construction Best Management Practices Plan (CBMPP) for land disturbance areas, including borrow and waste disposal areas. AST's field inspectors are on call to conduct storm water BMP inspections.​
